We recently launched a redesigned web presence for DeVerre Elements. Spearheaded by award-winning glass artist, Michael Fisher, DeVerre Elements redefines classic building elements such as brick, stone and wood by recreating them in detailed texture through glass. Using his home as a studio in the beginning, Michael designed and developed a process for making a stone glass veneer, and then incorporated it into his kitchen backsplash, to compliment the stone work of the fireplace and accent wall. Now, Michael and his team of skilled craftsman are available to assist residential homeowners, business owners, restaurants, architects and interior designers in designing and creating unique interiors using glass veneers that invoke the textures of stone, brick and wood.

Art + Craftsmanship + Tile redefined
posted by Tim on January 4th, 2011Downtown digs
posted by Tim on October 26th, 2010Just ran across some “old” pictures of our new office. They show the great space Bowman Corp developed in the Tri-State office building in downtown Hagerstown, MD; our new address since March. Our view is from the second floor of course, above Bulls & Bears coincidentally as our PA office also enjoys the strategic and aromatic location of being directly above a restaurant – not sure this is a beneficial trend. These photos were taken just after moving in, so things look a little sparse. We’ll post a downtown digs, part 2 with updates.
Todd Sponseller | Attorney launches
posted by Scott on October 5th, 2010Last week we launched Todd Sponseller | Attorney and got some feedback on it!
“Thanks for all the hard (and quick) work you did for us! Everyone has been handing out compliments and kudos!”
It’s powered by WordPress and they have complete control over everything on their site — page content, blog entries, news, images… heck, even the little copyright text! Todd and Laura were really fun to work with on this project!
Where’s that plane going?
posted by admin on September 24th, 2010CNN is my browser homepage, so occasionally throughout the day I’ll see something that catches my attention. Today it happened to be an article about an iPhone app that tells you where that plane in the sky that you see is going.
Impressive! Make sure you read the entire article before rushing off to download it.
Is your site thumb worthy?
posted by Tim on August 10th, 2010According to Morgan Stanley, in five years more than 50 percent of users will also be accessing the world wide web from a mobile device. Add in devices like the i-Pad which already has sales north of 3 million, and you have a real market issue that needs to be considered when thinking of your organization’s web property and how your audience needs to view and act on it.
I would add that I don’t think one should wait five years for the 50 percent benchmark, because the percentage of people who are currently part of this mobile surfing group could be one of your most profitable audience groups – now.
What we like about this shift, is it further supports our long standing philosophy of focusing on the essentials and keeping things simple and highly functional. Thumbing and finger pecking on a card-sized screen isn’t a great medium to ask users to be patient with flashy eye candy or unnecessary features that get in the way of them finding information and taking action. The good news for most site owners is they don’t need a lot of work to make this happen.
Stay tuned for our tips and checklists on redesign strategies for your website and getting your organization’s presence “mobilized”.
